About us

The expert you hire is the expert who does the work

YellowWatt is a technical and management consultancy. One firm with two specialist teams: energy assets, and project management for any sector, working internationally and on the ground in five countries.

Start a conversation

YellowWatt exists because of a gap that everyone in this industry knows about and nobody talks about in a proposal.

You hire a firm for the expert whose name is on the credentials. Then the work is done by someone three years out of university, checked in an afternoon, and signed by the expert you thought you had hired. The logo is real. The judgement behind it is thinner than the invoice suggests.

Our founders spent their careers on the other side of that arrangement: at DNV, AFRY, Bureau Veritas and inside major EPC contractors. They saw good analysis slowed down by process, and thin analysis carried by a brand. So they built the opposite: a firm where the expert you hire is the expert who does the work, and where nothing leaves the building unsigned.

That is the whole design. There is no junior delivery layer. When a programme needs more capacity we bring in named senior associates we have worked with before, under our own signature. Data collection and production run on an AI-assisted workflow, which is where the speed comes from, but the judgement and the signature stay human, because those are the only things a client is actually paying for.

One minute on what we actually do.

1 GW+Technical due diligence completed
400 MW+Design and installation delivered
150 MWDevelopment pipeline, ongoing
5Countries with people on the ground
“Pay for the expertise that delivers.”

Every figure on this line was delivered by the people who signed the work.

How we are built

One firm, two specialist teams

YellowWatt is one firm with two specialist teams. Each has its own people and its own clients, and each is hired on its own. Energy work is not staffed from the project management team, or the other way round.

01 · Energy

Assets and investment

Technical due diligence, feasibility, development, M&A support, owner’s engineering and operational services for solar, wind, storage, hybrid and grid assets.

02 · Project management

Where we are

Barcelona, and four more markets on the ground

Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Türkiye. We work internationally and travel to the asset; these five are where we are also permanently present.

What we believe

Three things we will not trade away

Independence

We do not sell equipment, we do not take a position in the assets we review, and we do not soften a finding to keep a relationship. A report that agrees with you by default is worth nothing.

Seniority

Every engagement is owned by a senior specialist from the first call to the final page. If we cannot staff it at that level, we say so instead of filling the gap with someone cheaper.

A date on everything

Fixed scope, fixed timetable, and for embedded roles an exit date agreed before we start. Open-ended engagements serve the adviser, not the client.

How we assure quality

A report is only as good as what you can check in it

Large firms assure quality with a process. A senior firm assures it by making the work auditable: every number traceable, every assumption visible, and the limits of the review stated rather than implied. Four rules carry that.

  • Named standards, not house methods. Electrical design is reviewed against the IEC standards that apply to it. Production is modelled in PVsyst, with P50 and P90 stated separately.
  • Assumptions shown apart from results. Soiling, degradation, availability and loss factors are listed as inputs you can argue with, not folded into a single number.
  • What we could not verify is written down. Every review has gaps: a document missing from the data room, a component we could not inspect. Those go in the report, not in a footnote after the decision.
  • The reviewer signs it. The person who did the analysis answers your questions about it. There is no layer between the work and the signature.
